The Serra of Valongo is being invaded by the háquea-picante (Hakea Sericea), one of the plague in our country that is growing exponentially which puts in danger so many ecosystems such as the well-being of the population.

This species is a bush or a small perennial tree that reach up to 4 metre in height, with needle leaves, strong and very spicy. It’s spreading very fast in Minho, Douro Litoral, Beira Litoral, Estremadura, Ribatejo, Baixo Alentejo and Algarve because does not have any enemies, as reveal the “Practical Guide for the Identification of Invasive Plants in Portugal” publish in 2009 by the Coimbra University.

The plogging is new way of sports that brings benefits for the health and also for the environment. This innovation combine doing a hike or running and also garbage collection over the journey. Is a great approach because is good for everyone.

Being My Greenway Tours a company that is always concern with the environment and the living beings, we like to organize some events were we and other volunteers help cleaning, and plant species with the purpose to enhance our habitat.

We are a sustainable company that respects the Nature and all the living creatures that only operate in natural parks always without a small footprint. We also want to appeal to the people to explore the nature, see her best views and learn to love her as much as we do.
