All about Gerês
Hello
Friends!
Today we came to talk about one of our favorite
places, The Peneda-Gêres National Park.
The Peneda-Gerês National Park, in the
northwest of Portugal, between Alto Minho and Trás-os-Montes, is the only
Portuguese protected area classified as a National Park.(Click here to know more)
With all shades of green, the rich vegetation
includes a forest of holly, exceptional at a national level, and endemic
species such as the lily of Gerês, which cheers the fields with colour. In the
Peneda, Soajo, Amarela and Gerês Mountains, which composes the Park, rivers and
streams flow, which precipitate into waterfalls and then spread into
reservoirs. The views are breath-taking.
Besides all these beautiful natural landscapes,
there are thermal baths to relax and many extreme sports.
Big vacations or little getaways to enjoy
holidays. Any of these possibilities is a good excuse to pack your bags and
leave to discover Gerês, one of the paradises in the North of Portugal, which
guarantees a cleanliness to the soul.
With our team you will enjoy the best that
Gerês has to offer. With us you can appreciate a refreshing swim in the famous
Fecha de Barjas waterfalls (Tahiti, for others) and a spectacular landscape of
Gerês valley in Pedra Bela viewpoint. Our guides have a lot of experience and
by living in this highland, they have total knowledge to give you the greatest
experience possible. Depending on the weather or season, we may visit other
lagoons and places to avoid massification.
